What Happens After I Schedule?

Scheduling reserves your trip, not one named driver days in advance — here's the whole sequence.

  1. Ride scheduled

    Right away

    Your trip, time and fare are saved to your account. Nothing else needs to happen from you.

  2. Reminders

    24 hours & 1 hour before

    You get a reminder a day ahead and again about an hour ahead. Your driver-side reminders run on the same schedule.

  3. Driver assigned

    ~45 minutes before pickup

    ZIP.GY sends your trip to nearby drivers automatically. You're notified the moment one accepts — no re-booking.

  4. Driver arrives

    At your pickup time

    Track them live on the map, and share the trip link with family if you want.

  5. Trip begins

    After your 4-digit PIN

    From here it behaves exactly like a ride you'd booked on the spot — PIN handoff, live tracking, SOS.

Why we don't lock a driver in advance: a driver who agrees today may be off the road next Tuesday. Matching close to pickup means we choose from drivers who are genuinely available and nearby. If a scheduled ride gets close with nobody accepted, our dispatch team is alerted while there's still time to arrange it by hand.
